Danica Patrick

Danica Sue Patrick (born March 25, 1982), is an American car racing driver. She was born in Beloit, Wisconsin. Her parents are, Beverly Ann and Terry Jose Patrick. They met on a 1970s, snowmobile event. Her father was a mechanic and he raced motocross and snowmobiles. Her parents own a Java Hut and a company for glass plates. Danica has a younger sister, Brooke Patrick.

She is one of the most successful women in American open-wheel racing. She is also the only women who won 2008 Indy Japan 300 and third place at the 2009 Indianapolis 500. Danica competed in the mentioned series from 2005 to 2011. In 2012 she competed in the NASCAR National wide Series and in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (but only occasionally). In 2013 she won a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole, which made her the first female NASCAR driver who achieved this.

As almost every racing driver, Danica started her career in kart racing in 1992, at the age 10. After that, she raced in the United Kingdom, in Formula Ford. When she returned to the US, she started driving in Indy Cars. In 2005 she was Rookie of the Year for Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 Indy-Car Series. From 2005 to 2006 she drove for Rahal Letterman Racing, and from 2007-2001 for Andretti Auto-sport.

There were several speculations about her driving in Formula 1. In 2008 she should start driving for Honda, but because this team pulled out of the Formula 1, she didn’t have the chance. In 2009, there were some rumors that she will be driving for the US F1 but nothing happened!
