Lewis Hamilton- Formula One Champion

Lewis Hamilton currently holds the Formula 1 Championships for the years 2008, 2014, and 2015. This year, he is ready to defend his title once again. The British racer from England was born on January 7, 1985 and since the age of ten approached Ron Dennis, the McLaren team principal to tell him, “I want to race for you one day ... I want to race for McLaren.” Less than three years later, he was signed up for the Young Driver Support Program.

His Formula One debut with McLaren came in 2007.  In this very first season, he showed his amazing driving skills by breaking several records. He was second place, only one point behind Kimi Räikkönen.

In 2008, only his second year as a professional racer, he won his first Formula One Championship. He became the youngest Formula One racer to become world champion.  This record would be broken by Sebastian Vettel two years later.

When making World Champion in 2014 and 2015, he became the first British racer in the history of Formula One to ever win two consecutive championships. He is also the second British driver to win three championships, the first one being Jackie Stewart. In every season he has competed, he has won at least one race and no other driver holds this record. With 43 wins, Lewis is the third British racer with the most wins in history.

There is no doubt that Lewis Hamilton is a true Formula One World Champion. This year, he is defending his world championship trophy. He has had a rough start, both in Melbourne and in Bahrain. However, Lewis insists that he is in great shape to fight for this year’s championship.  Fans are hoping for Lewis to level up his game.
